The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning
World-class Jewish learning. Right here in Tulsa.
This fall, Congregation B'nai Emunah is proud to become Tulsa's home for the Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning, the world's largest pluralistic network for adult Jewish education. Developed in partnership with scholars at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Melton helps adults engage Jewish texts and ideas in ways that are thoughtful, accessible, and deeply relevant to modern life.
Whether you've been studying Jewish texts for decades or haven't opened a Jewish book since Hebrew school, Melton is designed for curious learners who want to ask meaningful questions, explore timeless ideas, and grow alongside others.
Registration is now open for our inaugural course.

Why Melton?
At Congregation B'nai Emunah, we believe Jewish learning is a lifelong journey.
The questions don't stop after your B'nai Mitzvah.
Neither should the learning.
As adults, we wrestle with questions that are deeper and more personal than ever before.
What does Judaism teach about living a meaningful life?
How can prayer become more than words on a page?
How do Jewish values shape our families, our work, and our relationships?
What wisdom does our tradition offer for the challenges of the modern world?
The Florence Melton School was created for people asking exactly those kinds of questions.
Rather than lectures or sermons, Melton classes are built around conversation, Jewish texts, and shared discovery. Every course invites participants to think deeply, challenge assumptions, and engage with Jewish tradition in an atmosphere of curiosity and respect.
Why B'nai Emunah?
One of our congregation's guiding commitments is connecting Tulsa to the broader Jewish world.
Jewish life in Tulsa is vibrant and meaningful. But we also know that we are part of something much larger than ourselves. Through partnerships with leading Jewish organizations, we seek to bring the very best of contemporary Jewish learning and community to Oklahoma.
The Florence Melton School is one of the premier names in adult Jewish education. More than 50,000 adults have studied through Melton communities around the world, discovering that Jewish learning can be intellectually rigorous, spiritually enriching, and personally transformative.
We're thrilled that Tulsa is now one of those communities.
What Makes Melton Different?
Text-Based Learning
Every class explores classical and contemporary Jewish sources together. You'll engage directly with the texts that have shaped Jewish life for generations.
Open Conversation
Melton is proudly pluralistic. Questions are encouraged. Multiple perspectives are welcomed. The goal isn't to tell you what to think, but to help you think more deeply.
Designed for Adults
No homework. No exams. No Hebrew required.
Just meaningful learning with outstanding curriculum and engaging conversation.
Connected to a Global Community
When you study with Melton, you're joining thousands of adult learners across North America, Israel, Australia, and beyond who are exploring the very same curriculum. It's one more way that B'nai Emunah connects Tulsa to the wider Jewish world.
Our First Course
Pray It Forward: God, Gratitude, and Gathering Together
Prayer is one of Judaism's oldest traditions.
It can also be one of its greatest mysteries.
Whether prayer has always been meaningful to you or you've never quite understood it, Pray It Forward explores why Jews have prayed for thousands of years and what prayer might still have to offer us today.
Over six sessions, we'll explore the history, structure, theology, and emotional power of Jewish prayer through classic Jewish texts, engaging conversation, and practical reflection.
You don't need prior experience. You don't need to know Hebrew. You simply need a willingness to explore.
