Klay Kodesh Shabbat
A Centennial Project of Congregation B'nai Emunah | Tulsa
The musicans and vocalists of the Synagogue are collectively known as Klay Kodesh. In addition to those on this experimental album, they include Rabbi Kaiman, Norman Levin, Isrella Taxon, Jennifer Rae Paxton, Carlos Gornic, Felipe Oyarzo, Jordan Westbrook, and many others who wing on special occasions at the Synagogue.
My thanks to my colleagues, whose hard work and exceptional musicianship has had much to do with this early effort. Our gifted pianist is Jon Glazer, first among equals. Greg Raskin plays mandolin and does a beautiful job organizing our musical archive. Mike Cameron plays flute on these recordings and Pat Savage is our guitar virtuoso. He is also our sound engineer. Pat's exceptional musical taste is largely responsible for the professional quality of this album. He made my own middling voice sound better (and less pitchy) than I feared. My gratitude is deep and abiding. No corrections were necessary when it came to the gorgeous baritone of Cantor Rafi Dworsky. Look for more of Rafi on future albums.
