Bar Mitzvah of Elazar Shirley

  • Congregation B'nai Emunah 1719 South Owasso Avenue Tulsa, Oklahoma 74120 USA (map)

Elazar Eckstein Shirley, son of Jacob Shirley and Rabyne Eckstein, grandson of the late Lynn and Ray Shirley, will be called to the Torah as a Bar Mitzvah on Saturday, October 31, 2026, which will be the 20th of Cheshvan, 5787.

Elazar is in seventh grade at Edison Magnet School, and is a graduate of Mizel Jewish Community Day School. He started his education at B'nai Emunah Preschool, and is now finding his place as a leader, enjoying his first summer as a Counselor in Training at Camp Shalom, and a Madrich at Shul School.

Elazar is learning to play trombone, and loves to play Minecraft. When he's not forging a new pick-axe, he forges ahead with absorbing new knowledge of our world. He's full of curiosity, and always excited to share all that he's learned. He's been enthusiastically studying with Morah Sonia Hocherman.

Elazar became a big brother exactly 18 months after he became a real, breathing boy. He's guided Yitzhak through many experiences and adventures, most of them good. Come, share in this adventure with us! We'll start at 9:30 at Congregation B'nai Emunah, with lunch to follow.
