Halloween in Maple Ridge is truly something special—thousands of children fill the streets around our Synagogue, creating a scene that feels straight out of a movie. This year, after a four-year hiatus, the Costume Closet returns to the steps of Congregation B’nai Emunah on October 29 and 30 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. The project began when Conley Bolusky, then 11 years old, offered one of her own costumes to a child without one, inspiring a community-wide effort to share the joy of the season. In its last year before the pandemic, nearly 500 costumes were given away, and we’re thrilled to bring the tradition back, stronger than ever. Donations of new or gently used costumes can be dropped off at the Synagogue, and volunteers are welcome to help with setup and distribution—contact Richie Bolusky to get involved.
