Behind the Lifecycle: Dying and Death

  • Congregation B'nai Emunah 1719 South Owasso Avenue Tulsa, Oklahoma 74120 USA (map)

Too often, we only think about Jewish lifecycle events when they arrive at our doorstep. Behind the Lifecycle is a new series designed to take a step back and explore these moments before we encounter them in real time. Each session will focus on a different stage of life, weaving together traditional sources, contemporary practice, and practical guidance to help us make thoughtful, informed choices.

Our first session turns to one of the most difficult and meaningful topics: death and dying. Together, we’ll learn about Jewish burial and cemetery traditions, uncovering how our rituals work, what values they express, and what options exist for us today. Come with your questions, your curiosity, and a willingness to explore what lies behind this essential part of Jewish life.
