Religious Views on Reproductive Justice

  • Congregation B'nai Emunah 1719 South Owasso Avenue Tulsa, Oklahoma 74120 USA (map)

Hosted by Congregation B’nai Emunah and All Souls Unitarian Church.

A central tenet of many faiths is the importance of serving and supporting vulnerable people, as well as affirming the right of each person to make trustworthy decisions. That includes reproduction and the demands of faith and individual conscience.

This year, the Oklahoma Legislature has passed criminal and civil laws severely restricting individual choice regarding reproduction, especially in the area of abortion. Members of the faith community are gathering to explore legal strategies of resistance to restriction of individual choice and to discuss supportive health care options for women in need.

We hope you’ll join us on Wednesday evenings in June between 7:00 and 8:30 p.m. In a series of conversations led by Rev. Barbara Prose and Rabbi Marc Fitzerman, we’ll be featuring thought leaders and activists who have begun to address these questions. Our aim is to rebuild a religious coalition for reproductive justice in Tulsa.
