Hillary Roubein and Jan Finer have announced the next selection for the Sisterhood Book Club which will meet at the Synagogue on Sunday, March 6 at 11:00 a.m.
The book for this session is Inheritance: A Memoir of Genealogy, Paternity, and Love by Dani Shapiro. Inheritance is a beautifully written memoir about long-held secrets regarding Shapiro's biological identity. After 50 years, the author discovers she is not the biological daughter of her father which sends her on a journey to discover the truth about herself. What Shapiro tells the reader is that we live in a world in which science and technology have outpaced not only medical ethics but the capacity of the human heart to contend with the consequences of what we discover. Inheritance is the New York Times Editors' Choice and in 2019 was cited as the Most Anticipated Book of the year by BitHub, Washington Post and other sources.
Inheritance can be found at the Tulsa Public Library, or purchased through Barnes & Noble or Amazon.
