Postponed: Touro Celebration Honoring Betty Lehman

As many of you already know, this has been a complicated week at the Synagogue. Our professional family has been struggling with COVID-19, and the same is true in the larger community. The predicted surge is upon us, and the moment calls for an abundance of caution. With all of this in mind, our beloved Betty Lehman has asked that we postpone the celebration originally scheduled for this coming Sunday evening, November 15. She feels strongly that we all need to be in a better, safer place before we continue. Our planning committee has agreed, and we have paused in our preparations.

In practical terms, this means that we have postponed our planned drive-by salutes for this Wednesday and Thursday, along with the planned delivery of chocolates to contributors who chose that option. We have also postponed the Zoom broadcast originally scheduled for Sunday. We are honoring Betty’s preferences to the letter. Many thanks to all who contributed and who sent blessings, video tributes, and greetings in Betty’s direction. We are optimistic that we will be able to reschedule soon and promise to let you know of our plans as soon as possible.
